One of the main characters out of the lovesick duo, Romeo, demonstrates the nature of lookism most men carry when approaching the topic of love. When Romeo one day after meeting the lovely heroine, Juliet, approaches Friar Lawrence with a request that he be the one to marry the couple however Friar who was rather shocked looked at him confused, and slightly bewildered. He soon began speaking. ¨Holy saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love dear so soon forsaken?¨ Friar asked, as Romeo seemed to be immobilized with his love for Rosaline just two days ago and now asked to married to damsel in distress Juliet. He then continued. ¨Young men's love then lies not truly in heart but in their eyes.¨(Shakespeare 2.2.69-72).
