Same Sex Marriage
This house believes that same sex marriage should not be legalized in the Philippines.
Main points.
1. If we will legalize same sex marriage, this will only prevents us to reproduce and to promote life, and eventually it will lead to the fall of human existence.
2. According to Executive order no. 209 or commonly known as the Familly Code of the Philippines. Marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life.
Accdg to Art. 2. No marriage shall be valid, unless these essential requisites are present:
(1) Legal capacity of the contracting parties who must be a male and a female; and
(2) Consent freely given in the presence of the solemnizing officer. (53a
It is the foundation of the family and an inviolable social institution whose nature, consequences, and incidents are governed by law and not subject to stipulation, except that marriage settlements may fix the property relations during the marriage within the limits provided by this Code. (52a)
same-sex marriages will only be allowed in the Philippines if the Constitution is amended. kapag ipinasa nila iyan [same-sex marriage bill], dapat baguhin nila ang Saligang Batas ng Pilipinas at gayundin ang Family Code, sapagkat sa Konstitusyon nakalagay doon na ang kasal ay sa pagitan ng babae at lalaki,"
3. The government or pro side has stated that the purpose of same sex marriage is neither pleasure nor parenting. They’ve said that pleasure and parenting does not matter, what matter is that they love each other and the contract between them. Parang ang selfish ng dating . You only married each other for your own good or leverage, which is morally wrong. We don’t just think of our freedom and rights we must also include the effects in our society. Don’t give an example of society that is morally wrong.
