Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting On December 14, 2012 a horrible tragedy occurred in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty year old Adam Lanza killed twenty innocent six years olds and six staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary. The shooting happened approximately around 9:30 a.m., while announcements were being said on the loudspeaker to the students. This is a misfortune that will never be forgotten. We all have questions on how, when, what, where, and why Adam Lanza would do this. Some questions still have stayed unanswered. America’s most recent mass killer is Adam Lanza. Before the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, news articles have discovered that Lanza had killed his Mother Nancy Lanza, at their Newtown Connecticut home before he took action at Sandy Hook elementary. Lanza took his life as well at the elementary school after he killed twenty-six innocent lives. Adam must have had plenty of time to plan out the shooting. Nancy Lanza was shot four times in her bed with a 22 caliber rifle. Reports have discovered that his mother would teach him how to aim guns at a young age. People that knew Adam when he was a kid say he was an “odd” child. Marvin Lafontaine knows the Lanza family from New Hampshire through a Boy Scout program (Weiegand). Lafontaine said that Adam was very anti-social and did not like to be touched by others. When Adam was in middle school he was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome which is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized in the social behavior.
As a child finding out that you are diagnosed with Asperger syndrome must be a challenge in life to obtain with. As a mother, it must be a difficult challenge to do the best to your ability to provide the needs for your child. Adams’ father Peter Lanza was divorced from Nancy when Adam was ten years old. The divorced must have made an impact in his life. Also, Adams’ older brother had moved out to attend a university out

The reporters set out on a mission to discover the relationship between Adam and his mother Nancy Lanza. The reporters did their job mainly by visiting close friends of Nancy and others who had some contact with Adam. Their goal for meeting with those people was to gather history of Adams past and the background of the mother’s thoughts.…

Adam showed an interest in violent video games. Have Adam not seen the violent video games there would have been a good chance that Adam may have not shot up the school. In america it is extremely easy to purchase firearms because of the second amendment. Adam's mother was said to have around 4 firearms in the house at the time. If Adam's mother have had a safe with a lock on the firearms or if there were stricter firearm laws Adam would have never been able to acquire one to shoot the school. Since the guns were easily accessible Adam Lanza succeeded in killing his mother and 26 other students. It was also reported that in the town (New Town) that Adam was living in at the time there were many gun owners influencing the society to also have/use guns. One problem that may have caused Adam to do what he did was enrolling Adam in the I.E.P program. This is believed to be a problem because Adam was not exposed to other children as much not seeing the culture of other children. If Adam was part of a class with more children he may have changed his…

He continued to go to the elementary school wearing black clothes and a military vest. Approximately 700 students were present on December 14, 2012 and classes were scheduled as normal. As Adam tried to get into the school, the doors were locked. Earlier this year, the school principal, Dawn Hochsprung, ordered a new security system installed that required visitors to be visibly identified and buzzed in. As part of the security system, the school locked its doors each day at 9:30 a.m after the main rush of students and parents arrive to the school. Adam Lanza didn’t let this stop him; he shot through the locks and killed the principal and the school psychologist.…
