Science Fiction Story
The Search Through Time and Space “Beep, beep, beep, Mr. Gordy wake up!” Rang the alarm clock. The year was 2023, the date September 3rd, the time 9:03 A.M. All was silent as the incessant nagging of the alarm clock continued to repeat it’s usual speech until a hand with a force of a comet came crashing down to end the repetition abruptly. A man, 6’3”, emerged from the bed, face worn from what seemed like a minute of sleep after spending a night of searching for what no man could manage to find. It was Stefan Gordy’s 47th birthday and he was again alone as he had been so many years before. They started walking towards the table as their little girl Selena whom they called Red (because of her hair) galloped down the stairs like a horse at the stables. When Red sat down at the table she bit into a perfect pocket-sized pancake while her father read the newspaper and her mother read the top ten styles of the week in the latest issue of InStyle magazine. As the family enjoyed a typical Tuesday breakfast nothing could seem more perfect. Not long after, the school bus was outside waiting for Red to make her gazelle jump inside. Melinda grabbed her Chanel bag and Louis Vuitton heels featured in InStyle and went out for the day with the girls. Shortly after, Stefan’s music partner and

It was a sleepy summer’s day and all I could think about was getting home and relaxing. The sun was gleaming down on us and glistened in our eyes as it reflected through all the droplets of water hanging off the shade cloth. The end of lunch bell finally rang and we all trudged to the lockers to get our books for fifth period. Food Technology. I only chose that subject because it was a bludge. And I guess everyone else there had the same idea as me, because they didn’t seem all that bright. We all sat down and Miss Kemp had that familiar look of sadness in her eyes when she saw it was us that she had to teach. The sky turned two shades darker as clouds began to blanket the sky. I sat up the back in my usual seat next to a quiet girl, like me. The group of trouble makers sat to the left of us and the girls who actually wanted to learn how much flour was needed to bake a cake sat up the front. To the left sat the stoners, staring straight out the window, not touching their books for the whole lesion.…
