Same sex marriage has been a topic that has been discussed for many years now. Same sex marriage is when two people with the same biological sex want to get their lives together as a couple. This had been illegal all over America for many years. Until today there are only a few states in America where they allow same sex marriage. Same sex marriage came to get legalized in Massachusetts in 2004. It was first recognized by the United States jurisdiction November 18, 2013. On February 14, 2013 the state of Illinois approved a same sex marriage bill by 34-24 votes. The bill from then went on to the House of Representatives. Now there are more states that are legalizing gay marriage. There are now 14 states where same sex marriage is legal, 5 of this states were decided, 6 were decided by State Legislature, and 3 were legalized by popular vote. Yet, again there are still 35 states that are ban from same sex marriage. In my own personal opinion, I really have nothing against gay marriage. America is supposed to be a country of freedom, but then again these individuals that are homosexuals are being stopped from marrying others with the same biological sex. I think every state should have been legalizing this. There should not be such a problem for gays to express their love with their significant others. I wonder when this discrimination against homosexuals is going to stop. Every one is the same, no matter how they look, or what sex preferences they have.
