It is believed that sexual orientation is determined early on in a person’s life. LGBT people struggle with figuring out and accepting their sexual orientation if it is different than the norm, which is people categorized as heterosexuals. There are usually stages they experience when trying to determine who they are and their self-worth. The first step is realizing or accepting that they are attracted to the same sex.
