Short Story About Abelina

Abelina is a wee little petite tot, well she was when she was a baby but now she’s 13 and ready to take on the world. If only everyone could see abelina as she is. A young grown women but in some people’s minds she is still a wee little girl.
Prologue
I can feel the sweat dripping down my body. I feel hel pless. I can't control the fury, the pain inside of me and think that I might collapse. I feel my bones caving in on me. My skin feels buried. It rages with fire. Names are running through my head.I can’t bear to think. Not even one more second.

Abelina wakes with a smile that takes up her whole face. She gradually rolls over and finds out that it’s 7:35 and she’s late for her first day at school. Well her first day at a new school. There was this program that children can apply to for the chance to go to the top school in the state. It was a brutal program but the best of the best came out of it. Athletes, scientists, presidents. Some of the greatest minds in the world were born at this school. Abelina’s mom wanted to go to this school but unfortunately did not have the chance. traditionally segregated school and black people were not allowed to come to this school at all. But because of the Brown vs. Board of Education it outlawed this traditional school unless they made some changes. So they did. The school was letting African American people in. Because of this Teachers left and staffing was hard so they made it a application school only.Anyone can apply but only some people would make it in.But Nioma(abelina’s mom) wanted abby to have the best education ever.Little did Nioma know how much pain this would bring abby...
After applying Nioma and Abby waited patiently.
It was a rough couple of weeks. The cost of applying was so expensive that Nioma went into debt. She knew that it was the best thing for her daughter and that it was worth it but, let me tell you there were nights where Nioma was ready to give up, and almost did.Luckily the thought of her daughter kept her going through these rough times. Going to work didn't help she just got bullied all the time.It was a painful experience. The lord showed her the way through all these tough times. It finally comes.Abby is super excited and they are nervous.Nervous to the point where they just stared at it for a couple of minutes went by and they were finally ready to reach for it.
