Since his mother’s death, he wore a beautiful gold and emerald necklace she said grants good luck to the barer. Mark and Amanda mourn him for several weeks, but he isn’t the only one Mark mourned. A few days later, an arson fire is started at Amanda’s house, the fire was put out, but neither her nor her body was ever found. Mark didn’t think of those actions as any coincidence, they were done on purpose and by the same people, but he has no…

His legs pushed him around the ice as he took several deep breaths then stood in the middle of the pond. 'Breath it is just a few spins and jumps.' Fay thought to himself as he did such a routine and started to smile as he added a few other things. His father had trained him but after the fire the ice was really his only place that felt safe for him. He skated and skated until he was mentally and physically exhausted maybe he would be able to sleep a few hours before going into work at the small cafe. He sat down on the ice feeling the cold rush to his warm body as he looked at the grey sky and smiled "Perfect time for a storm."He said as he laid on the ice looking as the lightning danced across the sky in an intense way that made Fay relax more and not hear the ice starting to crack. His hand pushed the black hair out of his face as he sat up when he heard a noise and realized it was the damn ice cracking. He swallowed hard. "This isn't good."He groaned as he tried to shift his weight evenly but soon was engulfed in the icy November water. He tried to grab onto the edge of the ice but no such luck as he went under filling his lungs with the icy liquid making sure he couldn't even try to hold…

A great block of ice got settled in my belly and kept melting there slowly all day long, while I taught my classes algebra. It was one special kind of ice. It kept melting, sending trickles of ice water all up and down my veins, but it never got less. Sometimes it hardened and seemed to expand until I felt my guys were going to come spilling out or that I was going to choke or scream. (Baldwin 53)…

On the day of January 12, farmers and children from all over the nebraska territory believed that that day was going to be warm and enjoyable compared to the previous days. From the early morning, farmers were up carrying out chores and duties that were post poned due to the weather. They were all very confident that the day would be a glorious day, wearing nothing but mere under clothing. Children rushed to schools that were miles away without jackets, gloves, or scarves. As famers were working miles away at distant farms and praries watering crops or tending to livestock, they would have little to no warning for what was to come that afternoon. Around mid day, the mild sky would so suddenly turn into.a nightmare, cathing all in the vast area extremely off guard. with the wicked winds and ice crystals rolling in, victoms had no time to react. If only those individuals had been fore warned, the death toll would be at a guarenteed low.…

We will probably hit a moose or something, he thought as Tyler, and his dad were driving through the British Columbia rockies, driving to where they would eventually set up camp, in a forested area. Two of his friends were going to meet him there, as long as everything went according to plan, which it seemed to never do. But after five and a half hours of driving, they finally made it. Tyler dropped out of the small SUV and looked around at his surroundings, their campsite was small, about the size of a large classroom, with trees as tall as giants surrounding them, down…
