As they leaned against the sink they were talking about going to Alyson’s house for a sleepover, Alyson was hesitant to let them come over. While they were talking the bell rang and they ran to their classes to get their bags. After that they met in front of the Science building, Alyson paused for a minute to gaze around the school and felt overwhelmed by the amount of buildings and the people that pass through them every day. While Alyson was gazing at the buildings Chloe and Brooke were already on their way to the buses, Alyson

With a harsh tone in her voice Alyson’s mom says “But this is not a passing grade in my house”. Alyson looks at her mom “But a C is 75% and that's passing” She says while pointing to percentages on the card. Her mom looks her in the eyes “I raised you better than 75%” She takes the card and puts it on the fridge. “For the rest of the year you should focus on bringing this backup” She turns to look at Alyson “We won’t except this grade in this house ever again!” Frustrated and annoyed Alyson walks out of the kitchen and stomps up the stairs to her room, ignoring what her mom said. When she got to her bedroom door she opened it then slammed it shut, she throws her bags on the ground then jumps onto her bed curling up into a ball. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Have you ever experienced grade inflation and why it effects so many people? In Scott Jaschik, “Grade Inflation Higher and Higher,” he defends how there are more A’s in four year colleges than two year colleges. Jaschik insists adjunct instructors at community colleges have a lack of job security, students that have a wealthy home life, and students finding a college that is less expensive than other four year colleges. Students need to recognize why grade inflation has impacted many of us, such as the causes and effects in our society. Many of the effects Jaschik quotes, "It's been a disastrous change. We need leaders who have a backbone and put education first." This effects a lot of students’ lives because there are students who are going to school part time as well as working which can be very difficult at certain points. Another quote according to Rojstaczer states, grades are very problematic to…

On this one particular day I had chosen to hang out at Jenna’s house with her friend Samantha and her neighbor Julia. It was a smoldering hot summer day, so there was absolutely no way we were staying inside. Jenna didn’t have much to do at her house, which made me regret that I wasn’t in Ashley’s pool that day instead. As kids though, we were creative enough to find something to do to entertain ourselves, but there was something holding us back from skootering around in the streets like we normally would. Jenna’s street and all of the other streets in her neighborhood were being paved, so we were restricted to the sidewalks and her front lawn. We tried to just walk around on the sidewalks for a little while but we found ourselves not being able to hear each other…
