A research conducted by Northeastern University concluded that more than 80% of the people incarcerated are high school dropout. When a student gets a high school diploma, they have a chance to be a better member of the community compare to students who do not obtain a high school diploma. There are has been tremendous amount of research done to show the correlation between high school dropouts and crimes. As the president of Alliance for Excellent Education, Bob Wise said “ dropping out of school does not automatically result in a life of crime, but high school dropouts are far more likely than high school graduates to be arrested or incarcerated”.
