Annie T. Oakes Kids should get paid to do chores
Growing kids are in need to be direct in the right direction when start asking for big items as I-pods, personal computers, phones, and more. Paying for those items can be expensive and give it to them will be financial economic expensive for parents, paying to do chores will help kids in the mentality of earning money and save for things their want, and teaching kids not to be Lazy. However, separate chores that can be paid with allowances and chores that everyone should fulfill in the family to keep things moving forward are two different aspects.
This statement clearly explains why kids should not get pay to do Chores: “Allowance is one thing. When it comes to chores, life skills, responsibilities—that’s a whole different venue,” “Say to your kids, chores is what we do to keep the family going. We all live in a house here. These are things we do together. We do it as team” (Laney, 2010). As kids we do not realize that getting paid for chores can help in the future, this will make a difference between a good workers and successful person. There are two different types of chores: One, the chores we do regular like making the bed, cleaning the bedroom, picking the toys and more, those cannot be paid because are regular actions in life. Two, other chores like wash dads car, doing the lawn, picking dog poop, and more can be paid as allowance so the kids could understand the mean of living. We can came up with different options that could help increase the perspective and mentality about helping in the house or even better analyzing the future on what their want to follow.
Teaching our kids the good habits on maintain the household clean without getting paid is substantial to be successful in the real life, making them to be organize and in control of their lives can be tedious for young kids that just think on have fun. Outside the family circle is so easy to forget those habits and go ways that we do not want their follow. Separate the chores that keep the family going is necessary from the optional chores that their get paid to analyze the impact of work in the real life.
Kids that cannot be control by parents at young age; easily follow ways that will destroy their future, and this why is important to teach the kids on earn their own money. Example: “Ty work recycling cans is his chore, he can keep the money he earns, encourage him to save the money for future expenses, and if he wants to buy something we could get it without asking mom and dad for help.” Some Parents give allowances to their kids without showing them to be responsible. The only time could possible give money to kids occurs when their need money for school books, school lunches, and field trips. Making sure kids will use the money for what is direct. This statement explains why the moral is important when it comes paying kids to do chores: “(Paying kids for chores) sends kids a clear (and clearly wrong) message: In the absence of a payment, no self-respecting child would willingly set the table, empty the garbage, or make her own bed. It converts a moral and familial obligation into just another commercial transaction and teaches that the only reason to do a less-than-desirable task for your family is in exchange for payment” (McCready, 2012).
As our kids grow, find other places to earn money for themselves like babysitting, work after school, and more. Founding this outside sources of earnings should not excuse them to do their basic household duties. By keeping chores and allowances separate, parents can avoid any conflicts in the future.
In conclusion, society forgets how to teach kids on learning the benefits of earning money without affecting the family obligations. Paying kids to do chores that will not affect the moral in the family can help on know the difference between getting pay to do work and offer work with no pay. Teaching the standard of financial activities to survive and be successful. References

“Do I get a reward for going to school?” asked a student from the Vons Middle School. “ You can get a reward, but only if you get good grades,” answers the student’s parent. Students usually get awards for good grades, but what parents don’t know is that paying a child can lead to a number of problems. It can create a dysfunctional incentive system in which students will forfeit their intellectual integrity, long term motivation to study conscientiously, and create an unsustainable promise from cash poor schools. In other words, paying students is a horrible idea because it tempts students to cheat, robs their motivation to study in the long term, and can bankrupt schools that have little money.…
