Should Standardized Testing Be Abolished Essay

Should high school students be required to pass a standardized test before getting their diploma? No, I would say I disagree with this approach. Why? Seniors in high school have already worked so hard to get where they are, I don’t think it would be fair to make them pass a standardized test. I understand the concept of having students do standardized testing to test their knowledge. However, I would not think it would be fair to make them take a test before being able to graduate. If the students have passed all their classes and have done well, I believe they should be able to get their diplomas. It would also be unfair if you give a student a test and they fail, they would’ve worked so hard to become a senior, and they wouldn’t even be able to graduate the time they were supposed to. I think the standardized testing is unfair. There are so many kids out there that do well in classes but fail the tests. Let’s say
These are able to show the teacher that this student is paying attention. They know what you’re talking about. It would tell the teachers right there on the papers in front of them. I believe that if the teachers can see that you’re doing you’re best and passing their class, no extra tests should be involved to graduate. The grade you get in that class shows them how much you know and what you’ve learned. No other tests should be involved. In conclusion, I understand why they use these standardized tests, but in my opinion, I don’t think it would be fair to make one last test mandatory. If the students are up for their diploma and they’ve passed high school, they should be able to grab that diploma, and say, “I did it.” The students should not have to try a pass or fail a test to get that paper they’ve tried so hard for.
