Students who have guns will be more tempted to use them, particularly at colleges and universities that are full of drug use, stress, and anxiety. College aged students are also at risk for mental health challenges and suicide risk. The combination of guns into a formula like that is simply not favorable for a safe learning environment. Campuses should be a safe place where students can grow, openly express themselves and learn in an environment free from the risk of gunfire and violence. Guns on campus would distract the student from the learning experience they deserve. Students may withhold their opinions during class discussions in fear of offending another classmate. This can also affect how instructors’ grades students work or presents their lecture to a classroom full of armed students. Many Americans believe that guns hold no place at our colleges and universities. In one national survey, 94% of Americans answered “No” when asked, “Do you think regular citizens should be allowed to bring their guns [onto] college
