Abstract
Whatever the movies or news have taught you about Cambodia, forget it. The newly dubbed Kingdom of Wonder has an exotic attractiveness for tourists and it has delighted guests from all over the world. Visitors have clearly recognized the diversities of the tourism experience in this Kingdom due to her cultural and natural heritage. Cambodia’s intangible cultural sites and religious temples enamor visitors with a feeling of calm and peace. They can view traditional dance, music and arts which are found nowhere else in the world. In addition to invaluable cultural diversities, Cambodia is home to some of the most beautiful white sand beaches and unspoiled tropical islands in the world. With fresh seafood, natural beaches and beautiful islands, tourists can’t help but become mesmerized. This essay discusses specifically the ability of the beautiful beach province named Sihanoukville and its’ recent addition to "the most beautiful bays in the world" list. It details particular highlights of Sihaknouville that tourists can visit including beaches, islands, resorts, and other facilities.
I. Introduction
Cambodian Bay is located in the southwest of the Kingdom of Cambodia and spreads over four provinces: Koh Kong province, Sihaknoukville, Kompot province, and Kep province with its diversities of beautiful natural resources. Sihanoukville, known as Kampong Som, is one of the most attractive provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Visitors can reach there by bus via National Highway No.4 or by local fly provided by Cambodia Angkor Air. Sihanoukville borders Koh Kong to the North, Kampot to the East, and the Gulf of Thailand to the South. The area of the province totals 2,561.20 square kilometers.1
