Callicles thinks that nature and convention are opposed to one another. He thinks in nature anything that is a greater evil is also more shameful. Callicles thinks that it is right for the better man to have more than the worst kind of man and the stronger kind of man over the weaker man. Callicles has the idea that the right, being the interest of the better, coincided with his idea of letting those rule who are intelligent and courageous in politics. The idea of reincarnation is a pleasant one, and I would rather choose to have the idea that if there is no after life such as heaven, then it isn’t a bad idea to think that having a life after death is a possibility either. Having the idea that life could consist of more makes me want to adopt Socrates’ view on the soul and how it is oriented toward the good, even though it cannot be understood in physical terms. I believe we possess innate knowledge due to the fact that as toddlers we are able to grasp concepts of language without learning precise grammatical rules prior to using them. A baby doesn’t have to be taught to nurse since it is something every baby is born with the knowledge of. Every human being starting at birth has the innate yearning to be happy and seek meaning. Babies do so many things that are not taught directly and are just instinctual from the moment they are born. Maybe instincts are innate knowledge possibly. I believe
