Snowboarding
I believe in snowboarding. I think it is a great sport, and also just a really well rounded activity all together. Here are the most important reasons that I believe in the sport snowboarding. I started skiing at the wee age of one or two. I really enjoyed skiing. My family and I usually went to tahoe or shasta to ski, but mainly northstar. There I learned the fundamentals of skiing. Both my parents being snowboarders, I was around the kind of gear you use for it and thus became familiar and comfortable with it. Also when I saw snowboarders on the slope shredding, I was jealous and looked up to them, wanting to be as cool as them. When I was eight years old, we were on a trip to northstar, and I decided I finally wanted to be like those guys that I always saw laughing with their friends a shredding the gnar. I told my parents that I finally wanted to rent out a snowboard. My dad and I went over to the rental shop and rented me out a board and some boots. I hit the slopes right away. There is park, backcountry, powder. There are also different kinds of snowboards also. Snowskates, split boards, powder boards.
I at first started just boarding all mountain. Then I started riding park. Now my motto is “If it’s not powder it’s park.” My favorite park to ride at is kirkwood mountain resort. I like it because it has a lot of fun rails and boxes. But no snowsport is that fun without friends. My favorite people to board with, are Benny Rosen and Aiden Cahill, two of my best friends. I have yet to shred with ben but have gone a couple times with aiden. He is faster than me in trees and on groomers, but in the park I am a bit better than him on boxes and rails. But regardless of who is better, we still have tons of fun. I also enjoy going with my mom and my

Secondly, a good skier would acknowledge that it takes years to master the art of skiing; I have been skiing since the age of 2 and there is still room for improvement, whereas snowboarding only takes a few weeks to be almost prefect. Last year throughout the season after a full day of ski training I would put on a snowboard a have a snowboard lesson. After about 8 lessons I could go down all of the black runs on a snowboard. Many people have told of this happening and if a sport only takes a few weeks to master then everyone can agree that the culture of snowboarding is far less refined than the culture of skiing.…
