The officers exhibited a power by the name of coercive power. Coercive powers is when you inflict punishment and threaten others in order to get them to cooperate with you and answer the question you want them too (Gamble, T. and Gamble, M., 2013, p. ). The officers did this because they knew that they had the higher hand and by me looking nervous they already knew that I would obey and answer any question that they wanted to know. Their body language also had a lot to do with everything, they were very firm when it came to talking to me, and they also had a straight posture.
