Spiegel contributed to the creation of Snapchat by helping come up with the idea of this popular app and most likely became very involved with the creation of filters that make up the app. Snapchat was released in September 2011 but Spiegel and his business partner, Bobby Murphy, have been working on this for Spiegel’s college years which lies between 2009 through 2013. So, Spiegel had created his contribution to the business world while still at Stanford, which is located 35 miles South San Francisco, but he continues to work on the Snapchat from his home in Las Angeles, California.
