Social Work Evaluation
I agree that evaluations are very important in the social work career field and after much more understanding I now see how critical it is to our populations we serve. You make a good point that we need to first understand what type of help the clients are already receiving and find out if that is even helping them. We can’t move in the direction of helping someone without understanding that and then be able to assess what is then needed. I have always heard bad things about nursing homes from people who have stayed in one, but it makes sense to evaluate the staff and see what they may need to be more effective. I think you made some valid points on how to approach the evaluation process in your practicum. We have to always keep the clients
needs as first priority but without staff having an appreciation for their jobs and bosses who don’t contribute it can make things more difficult.
