PROGRAM NAME: Business, Management and Administration
(Commerce and Information Technology)
PROGRAM GOALS: To recognize, inspire, and promote excellence in commerce and information technology so that students are successfully served.
TEXT: Intro to Business, by Eggland, Dlabay, Burrow, and Ristau. Entrepreneurship: Small Business Management, Glencoe.
FEE/INSURANCE: $15 class fee must be paid by the second week of August for the first term or the second week of January for the second term. Students must purchase school insurance or have proof of medical insurance on file.

Filler notebook paper I neither sell nor am a supplier of any notebook paper. Classroom paper will not be used.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Business Essentials is a one-credit course. Students develop an understanding of how academic skills in mathematics, economics, and written and oral communications are integral components of success in commerce and information technology careers. Students examine current events do determine impact on business and industry and legal and ethical behavior, acquire knowledge of safe and secure environmental controls to enhance productivity, determine how resources are managed to achieve company goals, and identify employability and personal skills needed to obtain a career and be successful in the workplace. As students learn about different types of business ownership, they interpret industry laws and regulations to ensure compliance, identify principles of business management, and analyze business practices to determine ethical and social responsibilities.
