There was a study conducted in 2007 there was 1,880 cruelty cases reported in the media; of the cruelty cases 64.5% or 1,212 where dogs 25% of these dogs were identified as pit bull breeds, 18% or 337 cases involved cats, and 25% or 470 involved other domestic animals. It's sad to say that in 2007 alone there was 1,880 domestic animal abuse cases in the media, who knows how many other cases there could have been that were not reported. Why does animal abuse happen? Well, I don’t think there is a certain reason why, but some people abuse animals by dog fights. There was/ is an app called KG Dogfighting (known previously as Dog Wars) on the Android market place. Many animal welfare activists are concerned about the app “inspiring” users to try dog fighting in real life. It is no joking matter, “Dogs who are forced to fight are typically kept in tiny cages or outdoors on heavy chains 24 hours a day, and they are starved, beaten and taunted into aggression,” (Mersereau, Martin "Cruelty Is Never Just a Game”). Not only does dogfighting affect dogs it also affects other domestic animals, "Dogfighters frequently deal unattended cats, other dogs, or other animals from people's yards to use as bait to train attack dogs,” (Mersereau, Martin "Cruelty Is Never Just a Game"). Overall, it is very inhumane, and the app should be removed if it hasn’t been removed
