Soul of a Citizen: Living with Conviction in Challenging Times
Peer Review EVALUATION

Course: Soci4080

I was glad we did bullying because I can use the information at my schools. Loeb states that "change is the product of deliberate, incremental action whereby we join together to try to shape a better world." Group A has come together as a one to research bullying an issue that effect everyone. it is important when working together that everyones ideas are taken in to consideration. "Our most fundamental responsibility as citizens is to love not only our own children, but other people’s as well—including children we will never meet, who grow up in situations we’d prefer to ignore" (Loeb,199).

But everybodys different and nobodies the same. Bullying needs to stop so when you see bullying you have to change that and you need to stand up for the people or kids that get bullied. Bullying is mean and normally people think that their cool if they do it. Sometimes I don’t get bullying because everybody's different and we all have different actions that people can make fun of but that doesn't mean that you laugh with the people that are laughing at that person so thats why you have to do something about that. So if you see somebody gets bullied and you see it you have to stop…

Bullying is a serious problem in the United states, and all around the world. Alex Libby had got together with a group of teens and created a documentary called “Bully” to show that. Teens are important in standing up to show problems like these. Bullying is a serious problem, but teen activists can be the main way to stop it. Sadly, teen activists are received better by children than adults, and children tend to listen to other children of the same age group more than they would listen to somebody older. Adults can’t be the solution to the problem. Other children have to speak up and talk about the…

Schools all over America are adopting these Anti-Bullying campaigns in order to help avoid these bullying issues. What the campaigns do is that they focus on teaching kids courage and self-confidence, educating people on how to see the signs, teaching self-esteem, establishing safe havens, and getting communities and other people to get involved in the campaigns. The movement is not only just help for the kids, but it also helps the parents so that they can also help their kids if bullying is happening to their children. Bullying can be very mentally harming to not only victims, but sometimes witnesses and bystanders. It can influence hostile and aggressive behavior, depression which could eventually lead to suicide, anxiety, declining grades and strange behavior, and worsening health in both. Anti-Bullying campaigns like “STOMP Out Bullying” and many others aim to reduce and prevent bullying, cyber-bullying, digital abuse, homophobia, racism and hate, school absenteeism, and diminishing violence in…

Bullying has become an epidemic, and it needs to come to an end. If people will stand up for each other and protect each other, I believe bullying would cease to be effective. It preys on those who do not have the confidence to defend themselves. Often times, the bully hurts others as a way of protecting himself. He believes that if he attacks others, then they will not know he himself is hurting, or has been hurt in the past. It becomes a coping mechanism for him. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that bullying should not be responded to with more violence. They need to be shown love, but firm love. A love that says, “I love you enough to not let you continue down this path. Let me show you another way.” Then you are not only l protecting those that the bully hurts, but also you are protecting the bully himself in the long run.…

Before, in the 20th century, bullying was a regular thing in everyday life. In this time, no one paid attention to effect that bullying had on kids because no one at the time showed any serious reaction to bullying. In 1999, two seniors at Columbine High School killed a total of 13 people which brought attention to the world. With a link of aggression and bullying, this became more serious issue. Entering the new century, many of those who have had a personal connection with bullying or some one who has been bullied have been speaking out and against this issue while others stay silent against this cause. Those who advocate against bullying and those who stay silent, both participate in this way because of personal experiences and personal fears.…

physical injuries resulting from a psychological condition). In order to address this issue of bullying, students I worked with at my service learning placement were tasked with creating a PowerPoint identifying why bullying is an issue and outlining a specific service project in which they, as a group, would work together to solve the problem. Overall, students decided to raise awareness about bullying in order to encourage their peers to not tolerate it. One group of students chose to create posters to display around the school, all of which exposed startling facts and statistics relating to the effects of bullying, while another chose to spark a campaign within the school that encouraged the use of the phrase “No Hate Here” among the student body, which symbolizes the intolerance of hate and bullying between students. Unfortunately, it is impossible to know if the projects had any impact on the amount of bullying in the school, but the activities my students and I partook in certainly raised awareness of the impacts of bullying and spread the message that harassment in any form will not be tolerated by a vast majority of the student…

Often people have no idea the multiple affects that being bullied has on a child’s development. Unfortunately, children who are bullied can/have experienced negative physical, school, and mental health. The symptoms to look out for are depression, anxiety, increased feelings of sadness or loneliness, changes in sleep and eating patterns, loss in interest activities, multiple health complaints, and decreased in academic achievement. My mission for this campaign is to give each student an outreach program for bullying, this will allow students to…
