Title: How to Draw Manga
Drawing Manga is awarding and challenging. Start with a basic idea and work to make it creative. Create costume and character design. Practice different themes, until you find the one that most fits what you want to draw. Practice today, and tomorrow. It’s ok to make eraser smudges.
There are several ways to produce manga art. With the proper tools, drawing manga can be a successful and fun event. Each person has their own preference when it comes to equipment. You will need a basic set of materials so you can sketch, use ink, and color your drawing. Let’s start with paper. It is recommended to use two types of paper. Use one for creating sketches and one for producing the finished color artwork. Next, choose some pencils for your drawings. “Pencil sketching is probably the most important stage, and always comes first when producing manga art.” (Li Yishan, Massive Manga Techniques for Drawing, Inking, and Colouring, 2011, pg 13) You should be sure to choose pencils that feel good when you hold them, and don’t refrain you from expressions. There are pencils that range from soft to hard lead. You can, also, try mechanical pencils. Mechanical pencils never lose their point, so you don’t have to worry about sharpening them. Colored pencils need sharpening, but sometimes, it is best to use them when they are blunt. When colored pencils are blunt, you can change the color of tone and shades by building up the layers of colored pencil. To keep your pencils sharp, buy a good sharpener. An electric one is good if you draw from one location, but if you draw from multiple locations, a handheld one will work. If possible, buy one that has
