Keeping schools “up to date” and equipped with all the new technology requires a lot of money that is not always in the school’s budget. Having supplies and equipment like new textbooks for English and stadium lights for the soccer team can get to be costly. This is wear corporate sponsorships can come in very handy. My soccer team and many other sports teams at my school are currently fundraising to build a new soccer complex and install new lights and irrigation systems to the baseball, softball, and football fields. Unfortunately, this fundraising can only go so far. Luckily, corporations like Pepsi have been generous enough to donate money to support our school’s athletic program. Despite the veracity of this accusation, this is not the only place that students would be seeing advertisements. These promotions of businesses are all over streets and televisions and social media. Cutting the ads from the school environment would not protect students from seeing them. It is also a belief that displaying corporate advertisements shatters the school reputation. However, many times the only advertising done in schools is the company’s logo. Rarely ever is an advertisement presented by using slogans or celebrities, but more so by placing their logo in the corner of a scoreboard or at the top of a vending
