Mother Teresa once said “It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.” Over 54 million unborn children have been killed from abortion. Abortion is not a personal choice but a great offense to God. The HHS Mandate forces Catholics to perform operations such as abortion even if they do not believe it is just. Their moral objections are regardless since they work for the public. The definition of conscience is the part of the mind that makes you aware of your actions as being either morally right or wrong. If people are going to make the choice to have an abortion they are making a morally wrong decision. Life starts at the moment of conception. Life doesn’t happen after a certain amount of weeks of being in the womb. In any medical textbook, life is proven to start at the moment where the women’s egg fuses with the husband’s contribution. We, mankind, must protect life whenever possible. We need self-preservation which can extend through all humanity through domestic bonds. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you" (Jer 1:5). This quote from the book of Jeremiah entails that God has given each one of us a special mission on earth. If someone were to kill a baby in the womb, then that baby doesn’t have the chance to become something in this world. Abortion is obviously wrong. The Lord has said, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). The life that is growing inside the mother is a gift from God. It should be able to have a chance. Why should the human race be allowed to murder what is feeble and defenseless? Pro-choice people believe that it is the woman’s choice to do what she wants with her body. What many people don’t comprehend is that, the new life growing inside her is not her body. It is a new body. It has different DNA than hers. Grave consequences will be the result of the HHS Mandate.
