While this is an acceptable point; however, I argue that standardized test measures specific skills not various skills, especially that skills we can not teach in schools such as solving problems, giving conclusions, analyzing explanations and sharing ideas. According to Achieve a survey of educators found that students after pass the standardized test were weak in some important skills for college such as giving presentations, preparing experiment and understanding complicated reading (Achieve, 2005). From this study, we can recognize that passing standardizes test is not mean students ready for college. And this explains that standardize test is ineffective measures for student achievement.
In conclusion, there are several reasons to agree that the standardized test is a weak method to measure student achievement. It measures a specific skill as a result schools narrow the curriculums. It causes too much pressure on students, so it does not measure the actual students' and schools' performance. Thus, the government should hire groups of educators to evaluate schools and put several short tests with several subjects in order to measure various skills without the stress. Lastly, one test can not be able to measure various minds, ideas, abilities and tell how satisfied or how failure we will be in
