Engineering Management is a specialized form of management and engineering that is concerned with the application of engineering principles to business practice. The reason engineering managers exist is to ensure that engineers use solid engineering skills and tools to design and deliver high-quality, cost effective products and services. It is this field that would help me widens my breadth of knowledge beyond a specific technical field into management and business.
I was always fascinated with Mathematics and Science since childhood. When I was introduced to Economics in school as an optional subject, I fell in love with it. I topped my school in the Board examinations in Mathematics and Economics. I was also in the school table tennis and swimming team and won many medals for my school. I was introduced into the world of stocks and markets, early in life by my father who is a successful entrepreneur. I learnt a lot of essential lessons from him about the business world. Two years ago, recession hit the world and India badly suffered from it. But because of my father's well diversified portfolio, our returns were protected from the downside risk.
