Statement Of Purpose: The Seven Army Values

Loyal, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and “Personal Courage,” are the seven Army Values as a Soldier that I live by in both my professional and military career (army.mil/values). Some would ask what is “Personal Courage”, the military states that it is physical courage, and a matter of enduring physical duress and at times risking personal safety. Facing moral fear or adversity may be a long, slow process of continuing forward on the right path, especially if taking those actions is not popular with others. You can build your personal courage by daily standing up for and acting upon the things that you know are honorable (army.mil/values).
What it means to be a Profession To be a profession means to learn, know and take pride in the profession that you are in. No one is ever going to be perfect in that specific profession because there is always going to be room for growth and to become more knowledgeable. To be a profession means that a person will put their trust in you to do the right thing with that issue or concern that they have bought to you.
The Army Professional Culture
With so many diverse cultures we are joined together to become one dynamic force. Each individual Soldier that is within all of our ranks and forces, all bring something uniquely different to the table whether it be their language, ethnicity or even just that way they extend their hand out to you. Each Soldier that is in a position as the moral obligation to as a professional and to not let ones opinion of a person’s race, ethnicity, or culture allow that to get in the way of them being able to perform their job, that is something that is not tolerated in the Armed Forces and that is what makes us so
