I study Chemistry and I enjoy this as I've learnt about the relevance and importance of science and how it affects the world. Through this stubject I have developed my analytical and evaluative skills. Through the practicals in class I have increased my ability to record information and data. I enjoy it as I have also learnt to think for myself and think through problems and explain ideas. I also study Biology and through this I've increased my research skills. Studying Biology has helped me develop my reasoning skills as well as my ability to handle and analyse data. I enjoy biology as I get to work in groups in the laboratory and through this I have developed my oral communication skills as we often have class discussions about a topic in order to expand our knowledge and get accustomed to using key terms. By completing course work I have developed my literacy skills and I have learnt to manage my time and have developed my organisation skills. Through studying Religion I've developed a better understanding of myself and the society in which we live. While I was there I had to organise files and this helped me develop my organisation skills. I answered phone calls which helped develop my communication skills and I developed my listening skills by asking the patients for their name and phone numbers and recording these. I had to communicate with customers and show them to the required room and worked with other people such as receptionists, dentists and nurses which helped me develop my team-work skills. My time management skills were useful in getting to work on time.
In January I helped in the science department for the open-night in my school. I performed a practical in order to help parents understand the positive attributes to the school and the interesting things that we have learned in Science with the hope that they will choose my school to send their daughter to. I also talked about science and the skills I have gained from it in order to inspire more people to share in the opportunities this subject could give.
I have achieved several awards in school over the years; achieving highest in Applied ICT, Mathematics and Double Award Science at GCSE, the school shield for excellence at GCSE as well as achieving second highest in Northern Ireland in Applied ICT at
