will feel more allied with the animals and will feel as if they have a personal obligation to protect them. This is why the answer to animal mistreatment is to add more to their lives. Get schools and work animals to interact with and love. Set up trips with students who go out to farms and milk the goats, tend to the chickens. Give work places access to local stress relievers, things like puppies, which do truly help. Let libraries have creatures to read with the people and hospital cheerupers. This can be achieved by the government funding this distribution. Outdoor school is an example of a government funded education system (48). Children from all over Oregon, no matter what economic status or rank, weather poor or rich, get to go to a 5 day trip with their school where they learn about the environment (48). This lets them leave with a greater understanding and respect for the environment (48). This programis funded by sponsors, like gray family foundation (51) but also through Oregon’s lottery spendings (52). A similar program could be created involving animals. Students could use a government funded program to be able to interact with animals. This could use sponsors, but also things like lottery spendings, or vacation money from resorts. The program could be pitched to Betsy DeVos, President Donald Trump’s secretary of education (50). She could make this program a law/requirement for all elementary students in the many states, however many she can manage to fund. This idea would go through the branches of the government, and, eventually reach the people and go into action. When a child of a young age is always in contact with animals, weather it is the animal program through schools, or having a class pet, they grow a great understanding and respect for these gentle creatures, and will treat them well.
Public opinion can do a lot in changing the minds of companies. For example, strikes and riots are often caused in order to make the company in question have to go with the people’s opinions. The trick is to raise awareness. If people are aware what they're putting on/in their bodies, (for example, animal tested cosmetics and GMO meat), they might want to change their selling strategies in order to get more of a profit. IF the people are given the truth, they will want to change their mind and eat/live in ways good for the animal more often than if their things were taken away from them. By giving them a choice, they feel like they are in control and are doing good for the world. They would not have to rules or laws to rebel against. Raise awareness and show them what is good and bad. Give them access to alternatives. For example, there could be a non-animal testing line of cosmetics that would allow people to choose this option over the less fair to animals brand.
CONCLUSION
The mistreatment of animal rights was started with the idea that they are incompetent in existing with a purpose to eat and sleep.
Humans did not realize that they had the capability to do so much more than those three things. However, animals cannot escape stereotypes, ending up living their lives as objects. The goal is to get them out of this label, and place them on a higher pedestal in the circle of life.
In the past, the mistreatment had been terrible, while nowadays, in the 21st century, it is evolving more and more and the awareness that humans have of this conflict is growing. These creatures are so intelligent and have many more capabilities than what humans recognize. There are many examples of doing wrong things to animals for the wrong reasons, and some are animal testing, involving torture methods that would be illegal if done to humans, and there is navy sonar and seismic testing, which is achieved through blowing up the ocean floor and causing ocean creatures to suffer. There’s circus abuse, which involves bull hooks and whipping, and of course the factory food system, where animals are confined in tiny spaced, being fed horrible chemicals just to be slaughtered. All of these methods of mistreatment are inhumane and ridiculous, and need to be fixed. The resolution of this conflict is achieved by showing humans more of the undeniable love and attention that animals give, by giving people more access to them through work, school, libraries, etc. They will see that animals have emotions and dreams, love and pain. It will let them, see that we are all really the same and that we should treat each other the
same.
