The ability to create detailed sidewalk chalk art that captures the attention of the students attending the Campus Activities Board's first ever Street Art Festival, on March 17.
Bradley Kriznar, a junior engineering student found himself creating sidewalk art after suffering from what many of his fellow college students go through. "I was really stressed, so I just showed up [to sign up] and they had open panels, so I was like 'Sure, yeah'" Kriznar said.
Kriznar's street art will be a chalk version of the album art from the musical artists' Tame Impala's "Currents" album.

with working with pastels on paper, but never on this scale. "It's a lot bigger, and it's a tougher surface to work with but it's pretty fun." McMullen said.
McMullen's sidewalk art is a replica of a painting from the artist Georgia O'Keeffe.
Rachel Hammaker, an Event Management student at the Rosen College for Hospitality Management, is not new to creating street art. "I've done it a couple times in West Palm Beach in high school." Hammaker said.
Unlike art on a canvas, street art is much more temporary.
"In one way, it makes you worry about it less... It definitely makes it a more relaxed environment... But it's sad [knowing that] it's going to disappear, but at least you can take pictures and stuff."

Images of animals, sunsets, cartoon characters and other creative works of art were painted onto the sidewalks at the University of Central Florida's Knights Plaza during a two day art festival.
The first annual Street Art Festival allowed UCF students and other participants to create sidewalk paintings using chalk, paint and other materials. The Campus Activities Board provided art supplies such as paint, chalk, brushes and tape for participants of the Street Art Festival.
"It's a great opportunity for everyone to express themselves and have a fun time," said event volunteer, Jorge Aguilar.
Aguilar has attended seven street art festivals in the past but said it's great that UCF finally has one of its own.
"The festival allows people to create a unique piece of artwork that they're proud of," Aguilar …show more content…

Lanie McMullen, a graphic design major and junior at UCF, recreated a floral painting by her favorite artist, Georgia O'Keeffe. McMullen said she has never participated in an art festival before, but was enjoying her experience at the Street Art Festival.
Friends Lexi Baker, events major and junior at UCF, and Tanesha Bridenbacker, pending theatre major and junior, discovered the Street Art Festival as they were walking to class and decided to participate in the event.
Baker and Bridenbacker said they have no past experience with painting, but decided to participate in the art festival for fun.
The event had 36 participants and hundreds of guests viewing the pieces of art as they were walking through UCF's campus. The Campus Activities Board said they hope to host more Street Art Festival's in the years to come.
