Zirin points it out when he interviewed a former college athlete Dave Meggyesy. He said, “These are more than full-time jobs…It’s more cynical system now than when I played…”. The student’s athletes now a day practice all year round which is too much for a student athlete who doesn’t get paid. The college sport they play put them at so much stress and hard work to not get something out of it. Student athletes who sacrifices everything in the college sports. Zirin showed it when he interviewed a former LSU coach Dale Brown. He said, “You see everybody getting richer and richer. And you walk around you can’t put gas in your car? You can’t even fly home to see your parents?”. These students earn nothing but sacrifices a lot for the name of sports. Yet they’re still treated like free wage laborers. A scholarship is not enough to sustain the everyday needs of a student, specially a college athlete who risk all for college sports. A compensation would be sufficient to give credit for all the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication a college athlete put into these college sports. From all the advertising, all year-round practice, and not being able to see your parents, if someone is earning from all the hard work there and if it’s not them then it’s not fair
