Study hall aids students by giving them the basic tools needed for successful grades and a chance to socialize and communicate with others. These aids can increase the productivity of students and help …show more content…
Though it takes tremendous effort in order to organize a day with more than seven periods while having them all fit within a specific schedule, the result of having students perform their best and become more openly social with others makes the whole ordeal worth it. There are several more reasons to have a study hall in both big and small schools alike. For the most part, an individual's education is more than enough reason to have a time set aside for the improvement of the student's academic well-being. Although countless students perform well without the need for a study hall, some may not be able to keep up with the above average pupils. In any case, there is no reason for any school to disapprove of a study hall without looking into it

Across the nation, thousands of students ranging from elementary to college levels are sent back to their place of residence after a long day of lectures with work they must complete in order to be prepared for the next day of class. However, for students in high school and beyond, their backpacks are stretching at the seams with books to read, notes to study, papers to write, projects to complete. While many will ignore their responsibilities to focus on their extracurriculars, headstrong students with a yearn for learning will set their sights on their assignments and stay cooped up at a desk for hours upon hours in order to comprehend every…

Instead, they are either playing video games or going on their phone. With a raised grade point average it should not be a problem is students are on their phones or not because they are already getting their homework done if they are able to get a 3.5 GPA. Another school offering a study hall with a 3.5 GPA or higher is Kaukauna High School(Kaukauna). In my own experience, I am a person who goes on my phone during study hall, but I find it helpful for myself to do my homework at home with limited distractions. Something I do not agree with the teachers on is where the study hall should take place because they all think it should be in an enclosed environment, but I have worked hard to be able to have my freedom and alone time from teachers in the cafeteria. One compromise could be a study hall called high honors study hall. Students involved in this are the 4.0 or higher students. These students could be able to roam the hall and go to the cafeteria during their free period(HS Study…

Most teachers give out textbooks for their class and carrying those around could be a struggle. It would be hard to keep all of the work organized for the classes and students would possibly need to buy more school supplies then they need. To be completely organized a student would need a folder, notebook or binder for each of their classes. For me, the block schedules are easier than the period schedules because I can carry my first two blocks of work then go to my locker before third block and get what I need for for my last two blocks. When students have a limited number of classes, it would be less time in the hallways which would be unlikely for students to disrupt…

It is easy to understand why girls study in the formal because of the silent background and comfortable areas to sit. It provides for the optimal studying place. Limiting the orienting response and acclimating, we can see the formal as an association to getting to business. In the kitchen, one can situate themselves at one table, spread all their work out, and work alone with minimal distractions. I personally have learned that I can’t be around other people when I am trying to study.…

Study Hall: Too Cool For School What do students complain about the most? Aside from idiotic dress codes, nonsensical food and drink rules, and lack of time between class changes, the most common thing that students complain about is homework. However, with the inclusion of a study hall, students could catch up on their homework, have a much needed break, and have more free time outside of school.…

The constant complain of first year students about not having a place for them to hang out during their free time because most study areas and even libraries are dominantly occupied by older students, was finally solved when I made representations in the school board to ask for funds for the construction of at least two study sheds exclusively for the use of freshmen. The construction was done before the end of the first semester, and the facilities are now serving their purpose to the delight of our youngest students.…
