Question 1: Summarise the main development of a child from the age range 0-2 years, 3-5 years, and 5-8 years
Child Development is the term given to the growth of babies’ through childhood. Although all children are different and it is impossible to say exactly how they will develop or at what speed, but is possible to give a typical growth pattern for most children.
There are lots of factors that can effect the development of a child and one does not want to cause anxiety to the child’s parent or carer by saying things must always happen in the same way at the same time. But their is an order to development; for example on weaning, an infant starts on pureed food before progressing to onto food with lumps. …show more content…
Physical includes the way the body gets more and more able to do more complex tasks, which fall into two main categories. The gross motor skills, which involves the use of large muscles including walking and running and fine motor skills which single limb movements like catching or the precision of hands and fingers.
Intellectual development is the growth of the mind as a child gets to recognize, reason, know and understand and perceive what is going on around them by hearing, touching, smelling, and tasting.
Language development is the development of the child’s ability to respond verbally as the child begins to understand and pronounce
