Summary Of Chapter Six Of The Maltese Falcon

In chapter six of The Maltese Falcon when Spade left his office he noticed he was being followed. He went looking for Mr. Cairo he might have sent someone to follow him around. When he saw Mr. Cairo he asked who have he sent to follow him. After talking to Mr. Cairo, Spade went to see Brigid at her apartment. They discussed about Mr. Cairo and the amount of money he was offering for the black bird. Brigid beg Spade to help her, she did not have more money to give him anymore, but she offered to pay him with her body. Spade did not say yes or no and just “kissed her, but then he said “I’ll think it over.” He wanted to trust her but she had to prove that he can really trust her. Brigid told Spade she needed to talk to Cairo and Spade agreed;
they would meet up with Cairo at Spades apartment. When Spade and Brigid arrived to Spades apartment building Spade saw Iva outside waiting on him. Spade went towards her and the first thing she said was “who is she?” all he said was “not now,” and left back inside.
