Summary Of Interviewing Characters From The Book 'Blackwater'
Interviewing Characters From The Book Blackwater by Eve Bunting

1. Alex, if you told the truth about Pauline and Otis, do you think you would have gotten in much trouble?
Alex: I don't think I would have because I wasn't with Brodie. However, I think that he would have been in big trouble which is why I kept the secret. I didn't want to get him into trouble because I want him to trust me and I want him to think that I'm like a brother to him.
2. Mrs. Lynch, if you found out that Brodie was keeping a dark secret from you, would you be disappointed?
Mrs. Lynch: Depending on the secret, I might or might not be. However, I would be sad that Brodie feels like he couldn't tell me something if he needed to. I love Brodie a lot and he’s always told

Raoul, if you found out that someone knew what really happened at Dinkins pond but didn’t tell you, what would your reaction be?
Raoul: I would be very upset that the citizens of this town were not telling the truth because no one in this town has ever kept secrets. We are a small town and we all trust each other. There are good people in this town and if someone was lying about a case this serious, I, unfortunately, would have to arrest them. 6. Brodie, who do you feel is responsible for writing the anonymous letter?
Brodie: I honestly don’t know. I expected it to be Otis but after I found out that he was dead I became clueless. If I had to guess though, I would say it would be The Batman because he is against lying and he always knows what’s going on. 7. Brodie, do you think that in the future someone will actually find out the truth about what happened with Pauline and Otis?
Brodie: I don’t think that it will get out because this is very serious and if it did, I think Alex and I would be in a whole lot of trouble. Our whole life could be changed if this secret got out it probably wouldn’t be changed in a good way. I do feel guilty about keeping this secret but I don’t want anyone to be disappointed in me for their lives being taken and me being responsible for the

Pauline told me to let go so I did. I don’t mean to blame Otis but he was the one that pulled them back farther. I do however feel guilty for being a part of it and if someone were to find out, I think that I still would be the one getting blamed. 9. Alex, why did you choose to not come forward and tell the truth?
Alex: Because we would have gotten into big trouble. I know people died but at the time I was most worried about getting into trouble. Once there was one lie out there you can’t go back and change what you already told them. That’s why I was keeping the secret. 10. Brodie and Alex, what are your thoughts on what actually happened to Pauline and Otis?
Brodie: I am very disappointed about what happened and I wish that from the start we would have told the truth and just have faced the punishments we deserve. It is a very sad thing to think about and I wish that I would have never done what I did.
Alex: I am sad for Brodie and I wish that from the start that my first instinct wasn’t lying. I agree with Brodie that we should have just come forward from the start and got the punishments we deserve. I am very disappointed with myself for getting Brodie into a much bigger mess than he was already in and I wish I would have been honest from the

It would weigh heavy on my conscience being able to help someone in a way that could make their life better. In the situation I could have not believed Jan’s story and held him captive until the children were finished collecting all the gold and throw Jan overboard while leaving for America, but i wouldn't feel right doing that. I would have to think to myself how can someone come up with a story that sounds so true. It was a great risk in hiding Jan but in the end it was worth it because all of the treasure was safely collected and Jan finally had the opportunity to go to…

In summary of my project to interview a professional in the criminal justice field, I chose to interview Special Agent Craig Tomlinson with the FBI. Special Agent Tomlinson has been in the FBI for 14 years and was a police officer for 13 years before that. He also served on his department’s S.W.A.T. team while he was a police officer. The reason why he decided to be a FBI agent is just simply that he wanted “to step it up” and go further with his career. Special Agent Tomlinson has three degree's, all of them in criminology.…

A quiet, unassuming woman, Susan is scared of disappointing others and how they will react when she upsets them. She believes that in order to restore order between her and Henchard she must conceal the truth about Elizabeth Jane. It is hard enough for her to reunite with Henchard and when she is alone in the ring with him, she admits meekly, "I am quite in your hands, Michael…if you tell me to leave again to-morrow morning, and never come near you more, I am content to go" (63). Susan’s speech is reflective of her timid and submissive personality. In addition, when Henchard asks Susan if she forgives him, “she murmured something; but seemed to find it difficult to frame her answer” (64). Susan is unable to show her…
