Arnold Spirit Jr. He calls himself Junior. Junior lives on Wellpinit Indian Reservation.

Rowdy is Juniors protection from the bullies. In the geometric class Junior gets furious. He found his own mothers name in the math book, and sees that the books are over 30 years old. Infuriated, he throws his book in Mr. P’s head. After getting suspended, Mr P comes to visit Junior and tells him not to ever give up. He encourages Junior to take the advice, and live the reservation. Junior takes Mr. P’s advice and transfer school to Reardan High School. He new he was going to have a tuff time fitting in at Reardan High School, because it wasn’t exactly known for its diversity. Reardan High School was full of white, rich kids who were good at every sport they tried. When Junior transferred school he began calling himself Arnold. The transformation wasn’t easy. His best friend Rowdy got really upset and punched him in the face, and his own tribe went against him. Arnold met the hot blonde named Penelope at the new school. Later in the novel they went to the
Winter dance together and became semi-girlfriend and boyfriend. Arnold becomes friend with Gordy too, he is the schools genius.
