Summary Of The Lightning Thief
“If you’re reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal life” (Riordan, 1). In the novel The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are trying to recover Zeus’ stolen master bolt. The main protagonist Percy is an outcast that struggles to fit in because he moves from school to school and is a lone child of Poseidon, yet he has lots of termitity. Another protagonist Annabeth is very smart and immaculate because she is a child of Athena. And the last main protagonist is Grover, he is Percy’s best friend and will stay by Percy through all of the trouble they face. They all go on a quest to find the master bolt which they think was stolen by the antagonist Hades and to make things worse they have a time deadline. The genre is fiction, but it has real life places and ideas. The setting is multiple places around the U.S because they are traveling west to California.

This man versus man story shows the theme because Percy encounters monsters that seem humans, but in the end they end up being monsters and causing trouble. “Standing behind us was a guy how looked like a raptor in a leisure suit, he was seven feet tall with absolutely no hair… he moved towards us slowly… I'm Crusty” (Riordan, 277). Percy, Annabeth, and Grover fight the obstacles (monsters) by looking out for each other because sometimes the monsters seem like regular people and blend into regular life. Percy hopes to fight against the monsters by teamwork

Strength is a quality exhibited and possessed by the characters in Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief. While on a chase during a rainstorm to escape a monster from taking them alive, lightning strikes their car and are stuck to fight with the monster itself. His mother is killed after the monster takes her in his grip and Percy furiously takes on the monster and grabs its horn to stab it, even if it was twice his size. Even if the monster is something nearly impossible to win against, he pushes himself to fight the monster with his best ability. While still grieving over his dead mother, Percy learns to adapt and get used to Camp Half-Blood as he realizes that the blood of the Gods run through his veins. Percy Jackson has to go through the Road of Trials, The road of trials confronts you with takes or challenges. Percy has to face many characters on his road to fix the gods. Percy fights medusa, cerberus, luke and others to get what he has came for, Poseidon's Bolt. His ability to continually beat and out fight opponents allows the Road of Trials to be noticed and to form. The novel guides Percy around the United States so he can accomplish his goal. The Dragon Battle is not literally a dragon with a battle but a battle with a power that is clearly stronger than the hero. In the case of the Lightning Thief, Percy fights a Hades. Even Though scared marriage can be a literal marriage, for Percy, it's not. As the story goes along Percy grows a strong emotional bond with his friend Annabelle. Everyone is great in their own way, even those who may not realize it or appreciate it. In the end, your worth will show in some way. In the book, The Lightning Thief, I thought I that it was about a boy named Percy who has dyslexia and ADHD that always gets into trouble. Then, Percy learns that his dad is the sea god Poseidon. Afterwards, Percy finds out that Zeus has accused him of stealing his lightning bolt. Now, Percy must go on a quest with his new friends to find Zeus's lightning bolt so that there isn't another world war. He also wants to save his mom who has been taken to the Underworld. Now, I think Rick Riordan is trying to teach us that everyone has great worth, even those who feel different and unappreciated.…

Meeting a monster is one way how Percy is a hero. Percy is in the museum with Mrs.Dodds and she starts saying strange things to Percy. Suddenly, she shifts into a monster. “She wasn’t human. She was a shriveled hag with bat wings and claws and a mouth full of yellow fangs, and she was about to slice me to ribbons.” (Riordan 12) This supports Percy meeting a monster because the quote says Mrs.Dodds was not human. Then, the quote describes Mrs.Dodds with things monsters have like bat wings and yellow…

Percy – Percy provides the novel with the perfect parallel to Dunstan. He does, however, contrast in many ways to Dunstan. They are best friends, but Percy rivalry results in the formation of the main setting of the novel. Percy also feels more of an attachment to material goods than Dunstan does. He thinks only of himself and is in constant pursuit of total and utter control. Percy was low moral standards in comparison to Dunstan and in some ways, feels he is of a higher stature than other human beings. This awkward relationship between him and Dunstan forms the basis of the novel.…

My choice for my book report is the lightning thief by Rick Riordan, it was called the lightning thief because Percy Jackson who is the protagonist of the story was accused of stealing the weapon of Zeus (the lightning bolt) Percy had two friends in camp half-blood namely Grover and Annabeth. These two people help our hero Percy in his quest to prove that he did not steal the lightning bolt from Zeus. There is also Luke, the real lightning thief, who acted nice to Percy in order to frame him up. To sum it all up the book is about a special little boy who feels inferior because he has ADHD and dyslexia. Later on, he was sent to camp half-blood in order to be protected from Hades and his monsters. But knowing that they are…
