The article “Why Reading Fluency Should be Hot,” was a very interesting read. I think that it hit on some great points, while also making me think about how students are learning fluency. When the article starts discussing about fluency is typically how many words a student can read per minute, it mad me a little angry. I believe that fluency is made up of so many components that it can not be measured by one test. I did like how later in the article that they addressed that. Fluency does require automaticity and prosody. These two components have a large effect on fluency. I really enjoyed this article and how it displayed the research that was gathered.
