About the Course

Module Description

Leadership is one of the most important aspect in business and management. Effective leadership clearly brings positive impact to individual, team, as well as organizational performance. To become an effective leader, a manager need to understand the basic concept and aplications of organizational behavior including leadership. Furthermore, they need to develop “people skills” as well as “leadership skills”. This course is aimed to give students clear understanding about various aspects of leadership and organizational behavior and develop their people skills as well as leadership skills.

Learning Objectives After taking this course, students are expected to be able:
1. To give an understanding about the basic concept and theories about leadership and organizational behavior
2. To give an understanding about leadership functions in the context of organization that consist of individual as a leader, team leadership and leadership in organization
3. To be able to identify and analyze various issues related to leadership and organizational behavior in organizational setting and then provide appropriate alternative solutions to overcome those issues in a systematic manner base on the conceptual framework that had been studied

Learning Procedures

Theoretical concepts about leadership and organizational behavior will be studied in class, combined with various relevant real world cases discussion to provide platforms in understanding the applications of such concept and theories in organization. The participant centered learning (PCL) approach will be applied in the learning process. With this approach students will become the center of the learning process and lecturer will act as facilitator who ensures that the learning process can run smoothly and effectively.
