I understand now because I've lived it. For many people struggling with depression, myself included, everything starts to suck; by everything I mean everything. Your hobbies become a chore, the shows and movies you used to love so much are just plain boring, and the people you care about are just another annoyance in your life. Stereotypically, teenagers think they know everything, and I'm not an exception to that rule, though I like to think I've gotten better. We can be so persistent that our opinions are correct no matter how ill-informed on the subject.
