Team Work in Colleage
A team is a group of people who work together to achieve a common goal. Two heads are always better than one; therefore team work performance is more effective than individual job. Team member could learn fast and effectively, because during people working together as a team, members could share knowledge, information, experiences, ideas and learning the abilities, communication skills and negotiation from others. Expert had divide team work into three types: project work team, participative team and self-managed team. Team work is used in many areas, such as the school and company.
Team work contains many benefits to the members, it is the place to sharing the information, and learns the experience and knowledge quickly, because it is more actively. But, everything contains two sides, a positive side and a negative side, therefore team work also has many disadvantages, such as it could waste time and inefficiency work if the team doesn’t rule properly and the internal conflict. During working in the team, member will find out other’s good effect to make up for self weakness. According to the Chinese Confucian Analects Lao (n.d.) “If three of us are staying together, at least one of the other two is good enough to be my teacher.” It shows that the different person knows the different knowledge; therefore the group is the best place to sharing and learning other’s knowledge and experience.
Working in the group is the chance for every team member that acting as a number of different roles. A powerful, effective and cooperatives team allows members to accept their strengths and weaknesses and blend them with the talents of others (Cielens & Aquino 2002).
