Gladwell’s idea of the ten thousand hour rule is inaccurate because there are some things that a person could do and become an expert in a week, but there is also situations when a person could try for 20 years to become an expert at something and never truly understand it. When I was in eighth grade going to the ninth grade I decided to quit choir even though I was a good singer and I had put around four to five years into singing I realized that I really hadn’t made any noticeable progress from when I started to sing four or five years later. That is a great example of how a person can put a large amount of time into one thing and not excelling in the end. There has also been many instances where I have only done one thing, for example playing volleyball for 2 years and becoming a very skilled
