History of Berger Paints:

Origin
Since this Is the first course of HRM, we were instructed by our course instructor to prepare a report on the overall HR practices on two companies of Bangladesh. We chose Berger Paints Ltd and GrameenPhone as our targeted companies.

Objective of the Study / Purpose of the Study

• To help expand the Body of Language about the important area of Human Resources Management (HRM).
• To know more about HRM practices in renowned Companies in our country like Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. And Grameen Phone and to research about their policies and practices of Human Resources Management (HRM) in a more intuitive, relevant and effective manner.
• This also seeks to get an overview of the situation and practices of HRM in Bangladesh.

Limitations of the Study

Time allocated for completing this study was limited to conduct, analysis and prepare the report on this type of vast analytical topic of Human Resources Management (HRM).
By nature, Human Resources Department (HRD) deals with various confidential matters for its personnel as well as for the Company. There was some restrictions to collect and publish information in some of its areas, that can hinder the performance of this report a little.

THE COMPANY

Berger is one of the oldest names in paint industry tracing back to 1760.
Lewis Berger, a German national, founded Dye & Pigment making business in England. Lewis Berger & Sons Limited grew rapidly with a strong reputation for innovation and entrepreneurship. Production of Dyes & Pigments evolved into production of Paints & Coatings, which till today, remains the core business of Berger.
Berger grew rapidly by establishing branches the world over and through merging with other leading Paint
