The cost for Tesco setting up the app could be quite big as creating an app to be functional with the virtual store takes a lot of time and effort and coders which can end up costing them a noteworthy amount, the boards that will be virtually displaying the store will also need to be purchased and installed. In the long term it has been proven that online sales have significantly increased and new customers have been brought into Tesco stores once they have used it in the airport. Tesco, like most of the big multinational organisations, holds their very own department that is focused on finding innovative and creative ideas and ways to improve the customer experience that are called Tesco labs (http://www.tescolabs.com/). Additionally, recently Tesco have developed their apps to work in store, so that if an item is out of stock customers will be able to scan it and get it delivered to them at a later time. The reason for doing this was to increase customer satisfaction so that their customers are not disappointed by having what they wanted to buy be unavailable and out of stock, and it also further benefits Tesco, as that customer in the past, most likely than not would have gone to their competitors, however now they gained one potential lost
