Thanksgiving Animals Persuasive Speech
Every day animals are abused and lose hope, they don't know when their next meal will be or if anyone will ever love them again. Animals are unfairly treated for this reason. After a long time they will be euthanized, which mean put down. To think all they wanted was some love and care. With your help we can save animal's life. I am proposing that you donate whether it be time, money, or even adopt an animal. If your family is looking into getting an animal look at our local shelters like Wadena and Hubbard county shelters first because you may just find a best friend for life.

Every animal has a heartbeat that may or may not be important to you, but what i'm saying is that they’re just like you and me. Were all equal, we all need love and attention so why should that be any different for them. When I was younger, my family adopted two dogs Digger and Maggie a few days before they were going to be euthanized. They were my pride and joy, I would hurry up getting ready so I Could see them. A few years ago, they have passed away. What i'm saying is they never got mad at us they just loved us, they always greeted us and Maggie sometimes cleaned Callie our cat. Just think by donating you could give an animal hope again and that might make their life better.

All the while, millions of animals are being euthanized every year, due to pet’s owners turning them out on the streets or being surrendered to the shelters. According to Kenny (2012), “As of 2011, it is estimated that there are over seventy-eight million dogs in the United States, only twenty-one percent of these pets were adopted from animal shelters. Six to eight million dogs and cats enter shelters across the country each year and three to four million of these animals are¬¬¬ euthanized in the shelter system.” (Kenny, 2012). According to the ASPCA (2017), Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are…

    The Last Meow Summary

The owner of the cat in The Last Meow “had studied enough psychology to suspect that her feelings for Lady were party misplaced mothering instincts.” Owners feel a connection to their pets that can be portrayed as a friendship or as a parent-child relationship, which is why they want to keep their pets as healthy as possible, because they don’t want to lose someone important to them. Although pets are considered family members to most people, “The rights we grant animals are, first and foremost, a function of empathy…[v]eterinarians like to talk about a pet’s quality of life, but no one really knows what they mean…[d]o they also feel enough pleasure—enough joy in the sheer fact of existence—to make surviving worthwhile?” These owners are putting their pets through all these treatments when these animals could be absolutely miserable. Along with that, veterinarian hospitals have “donor animals” which are simply there to donate organs to other animals. It’d almost be more humane to put them down when they have to be seriously treated since they have no say or consent in the matter. When malpractice lawsuits started coming into play, courts genuinely had to consider whether animals should be treated with these human rights in court, even though pets had no consent to what was done to them in the first place. To make it even more extreme, “[t]he…

The first reason someone should be willing to donate to the ASPCA because they help to fight against animal cruelty. Dog fighting has been a huge part of animal cruelty for some time now. The dog fighting consists of two dogs fighting, pretty much to the death. According to The Humane Society of the United States “the fights average one to two hours, ending when one of the dogs will not or cannot continue” (Dogfighting). The injuries that the dogs sustain from these fights are usually extremely severe. Sometimes these dog fights can result in fatal injuries where the dog later dies. “The dogs used in these events often die of blood loss, shock, dehydration, exhaustion, or infection hours or even days after the fight” (Dogfighting). There are also animal cruelty cases where the owner of an animal intentionally physically harms…

This is the life for millions of turkeys on Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving forty-five million turkeys are mercilessly slaughtered and that's only on one day and twenty-two million turkeys are killed on Christmas. Turkeys shouldn’t be slaughtered on Thanksgiving or any other time really because even though eating turkey gives you necessary nutrients turkeys also speed up the timeline for meeting death and causes health problems. Turkeys are treated cruelly and are mutilated because turkeys are not protected by any laws saying they can’t be abused or hurt. Society needs to be aware that fostering is a vital part of animal rescue. Each time an animal is featured on social media, people respond from all over the country to adopt it. For that one animal, the outlook is fantastic; however, for those left behind the outlook is much bleaker. If all of the potential adopters for that one animal fostered or adopted another, think of the changes we could make! This is not your typical Thanksgiving guide. We are not the Food Network so we will not talk about how to cook a Thanksgiving feast. This is more about the behind the scenes footage of Thanksgiving. Instead of what to cook, I want to tap into those holiday nuances like your Mother and Aunt, arguing over who’s making the dressing this year, or the Uncle that has to bring a different woman to dinner every year because he is still trying to get under Aunt Margaret’s skin. You'll get rules on hosting a party, should you bring something if invited, how involved do you want your husband to be, and so on. Here is the rundown of the Do’s and Don’ts of Thanksgiving.…
