Single parents may not be able to get everything that their children want to have, but they work hard for the essentials. Single parents may have an American Dream, but it is a lot different than everybody else's. The second variation of an American Dream is the couple with no children.
It is not that they do not want kids, it may just happen at a different time in their lives. A couple with no children are usually a younger couple that is just getting started with their live and their careers. They don’t have the income that some older people have, so they may not be able to afford all the expenses and a child at the time. This couple is happy, with a steady income coming in every month, kids that are happy and have everything they ever wanted. They usually have the most opportunities to do whatever they want in life. There is a big difference between this type of family and a single parent family, or a child-free couple. This family may have more worries, but they have plenty of what they need. They are living the stereotypical American Dream, and that can be something to be proud of. The American Dream is something that is always changing. It is not just different types of families and their success, it is the opportunities and situations that they are in, because it is all different. The stereotype of this perfect family with all the opportunities they could ever have is slowly changing into different variations and situations. Our society is slowly changing and making it more difficult to be that perfect family that represents The American Dream. It will always be changing, it is just up to the people to change with it and deal with the
