The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor, started by Japanese air craft, was a gruesome beginning of a terrifying war between Japan and the United States of America. Pearl Harbor is located on the south side of the Hawaiian island of Oahu and is the home of a United States naval base. (“History”) December 7, 1941, is when the bombing of Pearl Harbor occurred. The bombing lasted form seven fifty five in the morning till nine forty five later that morning, a total of an hour and fifty minutes. (“History”) The toll this had on everyone was tremendous because 2,335 United States servicemen were killed, 1143 were wounded, 68 civilians were killed, and 35 were wounded. (“History”) Although the United States was horrifically affected, Japan had only lost 65 men. The causes and effects of the Bombing of Pearl Harbor was a great leading factor of the Allies winning World War two. Most observers of international affairs were not surprised about the attack on Pearl Harbor. (“Edsitement”) Japan did not think the distribution of goods was fair, and Manchuria and China found a way to the right the balance. (“Japan’s” In the late nineteenth century, the economy and industrialization of Japan were rapid. (“Independent”) Japan has barely to any natural resources; therefore they relied on the United States and European colonies for all their needed resources. (“Independent”) Japan was economically put at a stop, but in the future would begin to advance again.
