Booth throughout his letters to Salvationist expresses his deep passion on the matter of a pure heart. Booth states that the subject is not fully developed in individual’s minds as it should be. Booth’s approach on the meaning of a pure heart is threefold; to explain the meaning of a pure heart, to demonstrate how one may obtain the “this precious treasure,” and the manner in which one is able to maintain this blessing once achieved (2). In chapter three Booth offers a definition on what he means by a pure heart. “A pure heart is a heart that has been cleansed by the Holy Spirit from all sin, and enabled to please God in all it does; to love him with all its power, and its neighbor as itself. Where this experience is enjoyed by anyone it may be said that God has made the heart pure, even as he is pure” (14). I would apply it to the continued transformation of my heart; I define the heart as the inner-self. I must continually be aware of those areas that need to be refined and submitted to God’s will. In the last chapter Booth identifies how one can maintain, purity in one’s life. I must utilized a few of these principles in my own life. I must “continue in the same spirit of trust that first brought the blessing into my heart” (65). There are times and will be times when I face challenges or question things that will try to cloud my thinking. And it is in those moments that I must recall in why I
