According to Greek mythology, Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes and horses. He was the son of Cronus, the leader of the Titans and his wife Rhea. Their children were the first to born as Olympians. After the overthrow of their father, Poseidon, along with his two brothers, Zeus and Hades, divided the ruling of the universe among themselves. His brother Zeus would be the god of the skies, Hades became the god of the underworld and Poseidon became the god of the seas. His temperament as his ruling was as unpredictable as the sea.
Poseidon was always very moody and unstable (“greek mythology”). He was often also very violent. He used his power in the sea for revenge on his enemies.
